Dozens of dedicated employees who have been working at Living Resources for 10 to 15 years were honored on December 5, 2023 with tasty food, drinks, and a holiday gift of a green zip-up sweatshirt adorned with the Living Resources logo. Westchester County is going “Without Walls!” The Day Community Opportunities Program (DCOP) celebrated the grand opening of its new space at 280 Dobbs Ferry Road in White Plains with a ribbon cutting on December 4, 2023. Individuals enrolled in the program, their families, caregivers, and community members were among those on hand for the ceremonial snip of the gold ribbon. During this holiday season of thankfulness, we introduce you to Molly. Molly is a participant in our Brain Injury Program and says her injury saved her life. She means those words deeply. Molly suffered an aneurysm and had to be rushed to the hospital for brain surgery. Friends new and old recently gathered at the Regency Park Apartments to celebrate a meaningful milestone in Alice Brocci’s life. Alice has been receiving supportive services from Living Resources for 20 years and chose to celebrate with everyone who has supported her over those two decades. Alice’s Living Resources journey started with our Day Community Opportunities Program in Rensselaer County when she was 21 and living at home. At the IT Help Desk at Bethlehem Central High School (BCHS), students are welcomed into an environment where they can learn on the job. High school interns and interns from The College Experience (CEP) are both afforded opportunities to work and grow. Strong connections, like the one between Living Resources and St. Vincent’s Preschool in Albany, can lead to meaningful opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The preschool has been accepting interns from The College Experience (CEP) since 2013.
