The Adventure Program offers full-day recreational opportunities to children and young adults with developmental disabilities during breaks in the school year.

  • The program typically runs during the school gap week in February and the last two weeks of June.
  • All-day respite program with community inclusions. Past activities and trips include but are not limited to sporting games such as seeing the New York Yankees, NYC theater shows, New England aquarium, sensory gyms, swimming, and bowling.
  • Individuals who are eligible must meet OPWDD eligibility, live at home with family, and be of school age (11-21 years old)

The Adventure Program is offered predominantly during breaks in the school year for holidays. The program also fills the gap between the end of the regular school year and the start of summer school.

Applicants must be 11 or older, live at home, and meet OPWDD’s eligibility criteria.
